SHPHE has completed and delivered a plate-type gas–gas heat exchanger for a project in Hungary. The supplied unit has a reported heat transfer area of 1,400 m² and uses a modular block arrangement developed around the project's operating conditions and European supply requirements.
The delivery announcement identifies welding procedure qualification, welder qualification and inspection as central parts of the project. SHPHE reported obtaining EN ISO 3834-2 welding-quality certification, passing 15 qualification tests on the first attempt, and securing nine European qualifications for six welders.
These project facts describe the manufacturing preparation behind this delivery. In a new purchase order, the required procedures, qualification ranges and inspection records should be specified for the actual materials, joint designs and equipment category.

Gas-to-gas heat recovery often needs a large exchange surface while remaining compatible with plant ducts, transport limits and maintenance access. A modular arrangement divides that task into manageable blocks. Material and channel choices can then be reviewed against gas temperature, corrosion potential and particulate loading.
The plate air preheater product family is relevant to combustion-air preheating and related gas heat-recovery duties. For a specific process, the engineering assessment should establish whether counterflow, crossflow or another arrangement best fits the heat duty and available footprint.
| Document or record | Connection to the equipment |
|---|---|
| Approved datasheet and drawings | Design conditions, gas routing, nozzles and module identification |
| Material and welding records | Traceable grades, applicable procedures and qualified personnel |
| Inspection and test plan | Agreed examination methods, scope and acceptance criteria |
| Installation and operating instructions | Expansion provisions, preservation, start-up and cleaning access |
The project report states that critical welds received the required post-weld non-destructive examination. The relevant test method and coverage for a future unit must follow its approved inspection plan; a welding-quality certificate and the finished equipment's conformity documentation serve different purposes.

Gas composition and dust carryover affect material and cleaning choices. Minimum-load wall temperatures can influence condensation, while start-up and shutdown cycles affect expansion and thermal stress. These conditions should be part of the design basis alongside the required recovered heat.
For a European supply enquiry, provide the destination requirements, both gas-stream datasheets, expected load changes and the requested documentation package. SHPHE can then assess the exchanger configuration and the project-specific manufacturing and inspection scope.
